While most dogs have better digestion since they started eating Dog Chef fresh meals, some dogs may suffer from digestive problems for the following reasons:
Has the transition from his old food been done well? We recommend that the fresh Dog Chef food is gradually mixed into your dog's regular food over a period of 7 days.
If you already have been gradually mixing Dog Chef with your dog's regular food, make the transition even more slowly: one spoon of Dog Chef and one more per day.
Is the conservation of the fresh meals done correctly? After delivery, they can be stored for 7 days in the fridge and 6 months in the freezer. If you receive an order for more than 7 days, we invite you to freeze part of the order. Once unfrozen or opened, the meals can be kept for a maximum of 3 days in the refrigerator.
To unfreeze, place the ration in the refrigerator 24 hours before serving.
We suggest you to try changing of Dog Chef recipes (we offer five different ones), as some dogs may develop a new intolerance to a specific recipe.
Some dogs, used to dry food, do not immediately digest the vegetables in our fresh meals; to help him get used to and digest the first days of the transition, you can blend the Dog Chef meals during the first days.
If your dog was eating kibble before, it is possible that by adding a little bit of cooked white rice (twice the normal cooking time), the problem will get better.
If your dog suffers from other symptoms such as blood in the stool, repeated vomiting, refusing to eat anything else, lethargy or fever, it is important to consult your Vet. In these cases, it is likely that there is another cause than Dog Chef food.
