Go to Dog Chef

While most dogs have better digestion since they started eating Dog Chef meals, some dogs may suffer from diarrhea or vomiting during the subscription period:

  • We suggest you to try changing of Dog Chef recipes (we offer five different ones), as some dogs may develop a new intolerance to a specific recipe. This is especially true for dogs with gastrointestinal or allergic sensitivities.

  • Diarrhea is sometimes caused by the dog's food, but it is also possible that the dog has eaten or drunk something on a walk, etc. Could it be that your dog ingested something during a walk that caused the diarrhea? Has he been in contact with a sick dog? If so, please contact your vet.

  • In any case, we invite you to add some well-cooked white rice (twice the normal cooking time) to his Dog Chef meals, until the situation improves, and to reheat his meals before serving them (add the supplements after reheating).

  • Was the storage of the fresh meals done correctly? After being delivered, they can be kept for 7 days in the fridge and 4 months in the freezer. If you receive an order for more than 7 days, we invite you to freeze part of the order. Once unfrozen or opened, the meals can be kept for a maximum of 3 days in the fridge.

To unfreeze, place the food in the fridge 24 hours before serving.

  • If your dog suffers from other symptoms such as blood in the stool, vomiting more than once, not wanting to eat anything else, lethargy or temperature, it is important to consult your vet. In such cases, it is most likely that there is another cause than the Dog Chef food.
