Why is the recommended amount of our meals different from my dog's usual food?

It is completely normal that the recommended quantities of our meals differ from what you may be used to with traditional dog food such as kibble 😊

This is mainly due to the difference in calorie density and the use of fresh ingredients.

🔥 Different calorie density

Not all dog foods contain the same number of calories per gram.

Our meals are prepared with fresh, mostly moist ingredients. As a result, they have a different calorie density compared to dry food such as kibble.

🥩 Fresh and moist ingredients

Because our recipes are made with fresh and moist ingredients, the meals are heavier than dry food.

On average, our meals contain around 133 kcal per 100 grams.

⚖️ Larger portion, same energy intake

You may notice that the portions of our meals often seem larger than kibble portions.

However, this does not mean that your dog is consuming more calories 😉

Dry food contains more calories per gram, which is why smaller portions are sufficient.

Our larger portions therefore provide a similar caloric intake, but with fresh food.
